Nayana's stationery originates as paintings, usually in tempera, while occasionally working with collage and mixed media. The spiritual world of Indian and Eastern mythology plays a large thematic part in all of her work. Each design of hers joins a bold palette with a brave line, jointly expressing a spiritual Asian theme. The various influences that affect each image include: the Indian visual landscape, Hindu and Buddhist mythology and iconography. Since she was a child she learned how to appreciate the vibrant colors and aesthetic of her native India. She has always been excited and driven by the visual realm of human existence – the colors, lines and textures of everyday life and everyday “art”. Her artistic sense is inspired by powerful color and simplicity of line. More about Nayana Jha
