The creation of exquisite pieces of jewelry and objects d’art first began as a hobby of Helen von Bueren, co-founder and owner of the Lotus boutiques, and gradually developed into a family business. The exquisite jewelry and decorative objects are created by skilled craftspeople living in remote villages in India, Nepal, Indonesia and Burma. Using materials such as coconut, pearls, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, silver and gold and working in age-old techniques that have been passed down through generations, these artisans craft one-of-a-kind objects that are gorgeous and yet subtle. The Lotus designs are especially unique because they reflect the ancient heritage of Asian cultures and simultaneously have a contemporary look.
